SAINTS have been linked with a move for Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Saints are considering an official approach for the 34 year-old following Les Reed's departure last week.

Webber was head of football operations at Huddersfield Town, where he played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League, having appointed manager David Wagner, before his move to Carrow Road last year.

Prior to that he was head of academy recruitment at Liverpool and he also worked briefly with Saints boss Mark Hughes at QPR, before taking on the role of head of first-team recruitment at Wolves.

Under Webber’s stewardship and the management of Daniel Farke, who he appointed a month after his arrival, Norwich have climbed to the top of the Championship this season.

Suffice to say that Webber, whose wife, Zoe Ward, was appointed business and project director at Norwich only last month, is a popular man at Carrow Road.

Explaining his decision to move to Norwich last year, Webber told the Eastern Daily Press: “I’ve got a young family now and all my wife’s family are down south so that played a massive part."

Webber is currently in Florida, where the Norwich squad is training this week.
