It’s that time of year when the country comes together to dig deep for a good cause as the Children in Need annual telethon takes place.
Since the event began in 1980, fundraisers have collected more than £950m for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Many of those who have done something to add to the cash total have been from Hampshire - as these pictures from 1998 show.
ASDA workers filled a bathtub with porridge while their colleague lay inside, and rival supermarket Sainsbury organised a marathon golf tournament.
Fox, from the television show Gladiators, paid a visit to Totton College. The celebrity, whose real name is Tammy Marie Baker, trained with the students to help raise funds.
Students and teachers at City College got busy curling - but not the sport - they held a permathon in which they permed as many heads of hair as possible.
