KIM Garner from Romsey sacrificed sleep to sing at 22 venues in 24 hours to raise money for Children in Need.

Kim, alongside a group of her friends, began her whirlwind concert tour on November 15 and will be finished up at the BBC South TV studios on November 16.

Kim, who has been singing for six years, was supported en route by guest singers, dancers from Richer Moves and a team of volunteers shaking buckets.

She said: “It is something different; it’s a bit of fun.”

Local businesses supported the Gigathon, and The Priory Hospital Southampton, where Kim works, gave her a paid day off to complete the event.

All of the 22 venues have donated their space.

SHB Hire is gave a minibus and driver to transport the team and kit, and Signs R Us has created signs for the vehicle.

Deon Designs donated designs for posters and T-shirts, Diguru printing printed promotional posters and banners and Olives Direct supplied food and drink.
