It comes after a day of delays and cancellations this morning on South Western Railway - caused by overrunning engineering works in London, carried out by Network Rail.
South Western Railway, the main operator in Hampshire which runs services from Southampton, Eastleigh, Winchester and other smaller stations to London, urged commuters not to travel this morning.
Winchester MP Steve Brine later branded the chaos on the railways "totally unacceptable".
