AN ANNUAL fun run has had its second event, and took over a Southampton street.

On Sunday, Derby Road in Newtown was transformed into a fun run track where youngsters could walk, jog or run the course.

It follows on from the success of last August’s event when hundreds of local residents of all ages took part.

In total 690 people turned out for the second Derby Run, with 320 of these people taking part in the family treasure hunt. This beats the 420 people from last time.

Ram Kalyan “Kelly”, Unity 101 Community Radio’s station manager said: “It was humbling to see so many people from the same area coming together, from all walks of life and faiths, young and old, to an event which brings strong numbers and has a strong community involvement.”
