THE sound of silence is to fill the air in Winchester.
The city is to play host to a series of Silent Discos on Ice in the run up to Christmas.
The events give skaters control of the music so they can skate to the sound of their favourite tunes.
Each skater has their own set of headphones playing the best pop, rock and festive classics from the 80s, 90s and 00s, They can choose from three different music channels provided by Heart FM.
New to the Winchester Cathedral Ice Rink for 2018, the events will take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm and 8pm until December 20.
