CHRISTMAS light switch-ons across Southampton will still be going ahead, despite the city council stating they won't.
Southampton City Council had posted yesterday that "due to unforeseen circumstances" the light switch-ons in Shirley, Portswood and Woolston would be delayed until Monday evening.
All three had been scheduled for Saturday evening.
However, Cllr Satvir Kaur, the city council's cabinet member for communities and leisure, said the displays would still be going ahead.
She said there were initially problems with the contractors, which told the council it may struggle to have the lights ready in time.
But she added they would now work through the night to ensure they would still go ahead.
