THIS is what a new tea room near Romsey will look like.

As previously reported, Annie’s Kitchen and Tea Rooms in Kimbridge closed in November last year when staff and customers found out about the closure on Facebook.

In October this year Hampshire company Ideal Collection, which owns pubs, restaurants and cafe across the county, announced that Kimbridge Barn is the latest addition to its portfolio.

The company has now confirmed that the tea room will open on December 15 and has released some images of what it will look like following a £300,000 investment.

The new tea room and cafe will be set within the original building and will extend onto the nearby courtyard and new rose garden.

An outdoor fire pit will provide additional comfort to those dining outside.

The refurbished barn with vaulted ceilings and oak beams will accommodate up to 150 guests and host large events such as weddings and corporate functions.

A smaller room called the Boot Room will also be created to host small business meetings.

The cafe and tea room will open on December 15 while the barn and function room will open in mid-January.

The tea room and café will be open 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 6pm Saturday and Sunday.

At the time of its closure Robert Day, from Robert Day and Company, which handled the case said the company was insolvent and was going to be placed into liquidation.

Owner David Ramos posted: “It saddens me to inform you all that due to unforeseen circumstances Annie’s is closed. Sorry for any upset this may cause.

“Thank you for all your efforts and I wish you all the very best for the future.”

A sign on the door read: “Annie’s Kitchen and Tea Rooms is now closed.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience.”

It gave an email address for customers with bookings who had paid deposits to claim refunds.
