A POWER warning has been issued to Hampshire homeowners as wind speeds reach up to 80mph in the county - due to Storm Diana.
Hampshire energy provide SSE says it has moved into a yellow alert for its Central Southern Region in preparations for storm-force winds and heavy rain - forecast today.
A yellow weather warning has been put in place by the Met Office, covering the west of the country, as far as the New Forest.
But wind speeds have been picking up across Southampton and Hampshire - with WeatherFile.com reporting wind speeds of 82.2mph at Hurst Castle.

In a tweet, SSE said: "We have moved into Yellow Alert for our Central Southern Region in preparation for storm-force winds and heavy rain forecasted for today."
