A POUND SHOP chain has issued an urgent recall for two sweet treats over allergy fears.

Poundstretcher is recalling two Aldiva products, containing egg and wheat, because they say the two ingredients are not clearly labelled on the packaging - according to the Food Standards Agency.

One of the treats, a 100g Aldiva Mosaik Cake Break bars may also contain hazelnuts, peanuts, soya and sesame, which isn't clear from the label.

Another treat, a 250g Aldiva Waffo Roll Cappuccino Cream, is also said to contain hazelnuts, peanuts, soya and sesame.

The ingredients all have to be clearly labelled on packets under EU law.

These are all allergens that have to be clearly labelled on packets under EU law.

They pose a risk for people with allergies to nuts, egg, gluten, sesame or soy as they could trigger an allergic reaction.

All batches and products are being recalled and customers are being asked to return the items to a branch of Poundstretcher for a full refund.

No other Poundstretcher products are known to be affected.
