A NUMBER of Westquay restaurants have remained closed for a second day due to a water issue.
More than a dozen restaurants were forced to close yesterday lunchtime due to a burst waterpipe.
Now it has been confirmed they will remain closed again today.
Rezaul Karim, manager at L'Osteria, said:"It is the same since yesterday. The water burst has not been rectified yet. We don't know when it is going to be fixed. We are not doing takeaway service neither.
"The customers are getting upset, they have reservations. In the kitchen is a nightmare, we don't have any water. Everyone is in standby. We don't know if we can open."
Yesterday, a spokesman for Byron Burger told the Daily Echo that the restaurant was closed, while other eateries including Cosmo were affected.
A spokesman for Westquay confirmed contractors were onsite working to restore water supplies,. while Westquay north is trading as usual.
