COLDEN Common Shed Project has struck a new partnership with a housebuilding company.

Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties has made a £2,000 contribution to the Colden Common Shed Organisation.

This donation has enabled members to reach their £35,000 target to build new premises for local people.

This scheme will see residents from all over Hampshire come together and enjoy recreational activities such as woodworking, whilst enabling social interaction through a range of community projects.

Roz Wells, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “This is a wonderful initiative. It does so much good to support so many in the local community and we’re only too happy to see it become the thriving project we’re sure it’ll be.”

The Colden Common Shed allow its members to be social, and undertake projects jointly or individually for the benefit of the group, local community, charity or for themselves, as well as share or learn new skills.

Steve Badham, of Colden Common Shed, said: “On behalf of all our members, I’d like to extend out thanks to Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties for its kindness.

“Our Shed offers its members the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. We are always looking for donations of tools and wood.”
