THE festive season has finally got under way in Totton.
Hundreds of people took part in the Totton and Eling lantern procession held on Sunday afternoon to mark the start of the festive season and the Christmas lights switch-on.
More than 400 children joined Santa in the procession while entertainment and a market was run throughout the afternoon.
Cllr Caroline Rackham, who has helped the children make all the lanterns, said: "I love the way the lantern procession brings the town together every year. We do a little more each time and it's grown into a fantastic event for the town that brings people from further afield each year. Something for Totton to be really proud of."
The Christmas lights were officially switched on during the lantern procession.
