AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a teenager was raped in a Southampton park.
Officers say the 18-year-old was walking in Riverside Park near Woodmill Lane in Bitterne park last night between 11pm and 11.50pm when she was approached and raped by a man.
Officers were at the scene this morning carrying out enquiries.
Police also sealed off an area of the park this morning.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "The woman is being supported by specially trained officers.
"No one has been arrested at this time.
"Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who was in the Riverside Park area last night who saw anyone or anything suspicious. Please call 101 and quote Operation Scorch or 44180450724."
