WEST End residents are calling on a housing provider to put a stop to lorries damaging their road.
Residents of Barnsland want Radian to stop allowing workmen to park heavy goods vehicles on their road as it is causing damage and delays.
They claim that HGVs and eight-wheelers used by contractor Drew Smith Group are ruining the road surface.
It comes after construction work on 98 homes at Hatch Farm got under way in October.
Resident Jim Burns said: “They
say there is parking on site but it just doesn’t happen.
“They arrive early and leave their engines running outside homes.
“There hasn’t been very good communication.”
Those who live near the site say lorries are causing chaos during rush hour as well as “chewing up the road”.
Ross Bryant, senior project manager at Radian said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience that the works being carried out at Hatch Farm may be causing to local residents.
“We have spoken with the company carrying out the building work on site, Drew Smith Group, and asked them to raise this with their workers.
“We will be monitoring this closely.
“If anyone has any concerns, Drew Smith Group has placed a gateman on site throughout the working day who will be able to help, or they can call.”
Jack Mattison, site manager of Drew Smith Group added: “As The Hatch Farm site lies within a busy residential area, we have worked with Eastleigh Borough Council to produce an agreed and approved construction management plan.
“This proposal outlines our approach to managing traffic and parking associated with the site.
“We have constructed a large temporary car park and waiting area for vehicles on site, so there isn’t a need for anyone to park or wait in the surrounding roads.
“Delivery timing restrictions are clearly set out to our supplier and contractors to ensure we abide by the permitted hours of work.”
