CHILDREN across Romsey have received a “special gift” this year.
Members of the Rotary Club of Romsey Test have visited local schools in the past weeks to give dictionaries to children in year four.
This is part of the Rotary Dictionary4Life project run throughout the country.
This year 300 Usborne Illustrated English Dictionaries were handed out, with each child’s name at the front.
The dictionaries give the meanings of 10,000 words.
The project started in Romsey in 2012.
The Rotary Club said that in seven years 2,000 books have been handed out.
Part of the funding for this year’s project came from the Aviva Community fund.
