A HUNT has been launched for a sex attacker who struck in Southampton.
It comes after a woman was attacked as she walked between the Asda supermarket and Portland Terrace carpark in the city centre yesterday.
The incident is said to have happened in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Hampshire Police say that the 20-year-old victim of the attack is being supported by specialist officers.
Officers have now issued a safety warning to women in the city centre and have appealed for witnesses.
They added that patrols were being carried out in the area.
A spokesman for Hampshire Police said: "We would like to remind people to remain vigilant, especially when walking alone in the dark."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Police on 101.
