FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a Hampshire motorway.

Emergency services were called to the M3 after reports of a car on fire on the northbound carriageway between junction 14 and 13.

The incident happened at 6.56am today.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire started in the engine compartment of the car but no-one was injured in the incident.

Crews from Eastleigh and St Mary's fire stations were called to the scene and left at 7.08am.
