ABP Southampton is investing in the refurbishment of its office space at Town Quay, in the heart of the city, as part of a plan to further boost the existing business hub.

These newly-refurbished office suites will benefit from Town Quay’s fantastic views and excellent transport links to road, rail and sea.

The Town Quay office renovation work is well underway, with many offices already completed and the project due to be finished by April.

This latest project to modernise the Town Quay site is part of a wider £5 million investment to upgrade property owned by ABP at the Port of Southampton, phase one of which is almost complete. Part of the Town Quay project also involves plans to refurbish existing retail units providing an additional opportunity for local businesses and shops.

Improving these facilities will provide more choice for those businesses based at Town Quay, as well as for over 1 million ferry passengers that travel through Town Quay every year on Red Jet Services to and from the Isle of Wight.

ABP Southampton director, Alastair Welch, said: “We continually invest in facilities at the port and we are excited about our latest investment in ABP-owned property at Southampton. We want to further improve the business hub at Town Quay for existing tenants as well as potential future ones.

“We feel confident that the new modern office suites offer the necessary facilities to accommodate this in the ideal setting. We welcome businesses from all sectors to join us at the Port of Southampton.”

Allied Developments has become the first company to occupy one of the Town Quay offices.

This is the third office move for the company who have had a presence at the Town Quay site for nearly 10 years and continue to expand.

Simon Haynes, chief financial officer, says he is delighted with the recent move to the larger office space within the Town Quay complex.

“As a result of recent growth, we are creating a finance, procurement and administration ‘support hub’ for Allied, Shemara, SMS Group, Wight Shipyard and associated companies. The new office gives us the space and facilities to do this whilst the location remains convenient for each of the operating businesses.”
