A LARGE rate increase is due for the police precept. Why, when numbers are decreasing and police commissioners receive large above-cost-of-living pay rises?
The local council is raking in thousands of extra pounds in rates (council tax, if you prefer) on new properties with no outlay for upkeep or maintenance due if they were council social properties
We do not need a precept increase, use the extra income from the rates levied on new properties.
