STARS of this year’s pantomime at Mayflower Theatre have helped someone have an extra special Christmas.

Suzanne Shaw and Joe McElderry took time out from performing in Dick Whittington to draw the winning tickets for Wessex Heartbeat’s 2018 raffle.

Wessex Heartbeat has been selling tickets all year and raised an impressive £7,000 for the charity through the raffle.

The money will go towards the charity’s important work aiming to reduce cardiac disease in the community.

One lucky winner won the top prize of £1,000 cash.

Other prizes donated by generous local companies included tickets to Dick Whittington donated by Mayflower Theatre, a hamper from Snows Motor Group and restaurant vouchers from Delicious Dining.

Ken Wilde, Wessex Heartbeat’s commercial director, said: “We are extremely grateful to all of our supporters for putting forward such fantastic prizes, which have helped us to raise £7,000 for the charity. A big thanks to Suzanne and Joe too for helping us to pull the winning tickets. They’ve certainly made someone’s Christmas extra merry!”
