MORE than 300 runners across Hampshire took part in the annual Twixmas 10K run in Portchester.

The run gives participants the chance to burn off the calories they’ve consumed over Christmas.

The weather was better for this year compared to last year, where it had to be cancelled at the last minute.

The 10K began at Wicor Recreation Ground, and the mixed terrain route of mud, gravel and grass took runners along Fareham’s East Access Trail to Cams Hill, before returning along the same route.

The overall winner was Romsey roadrunner Mark Stileman, inset, completing it in 38m 20s, followed by Adam Wilkinson in 39m 46s, and Ellis Meades-Wooley in third. The women’s race winner was Tina Al-Romaithi, who finished in 44m 36s.
