CCTV has been released as part of a police appeal after an attempted robbery in Fareham.

Hampshire police have released the image after three men attempted to rob McColls in Hunts Pond Road in Fareham.

The group entered the store just before 10pm on Sunday, January 6, holding a crow bar, threatened staff with it and demanded cash from the till.

When they were denied the money, they left empty handed on foot towards Abshott Road.

A McColl’s spokesperson said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers is of utmost importance. We are working closely with the relevant authorities in response to this incident.”

The first man was described wearing a grey hooded top with wording PUMA and puma logo in black on the front, bright yellow gloves, black trousers and black trainers with a white sole.

The second man was described wearing a black hooded top with a white Nike logo on the left side, a black scarf with white pattern on it, black trousers and black trainers

The third man was described wearing a black hoody, black trousers and black trainers.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 and quote 44190006853.

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and leave information anonymously."
