A UNIVERSITY employee who downloaded images of underage girls has been ordered to do unpaid work.
David Cornforth, who works in resources at Southampton Solent University, was caught with six indecent images of girls aged between 11 and 15.
He also asked those sending him the images for "younger" girls, Southampton Magistrates' Court heard.
Cornforth, 39, of The Avenue, Southampton, pleaded guilty to possessing the six category C indecent images.
He was sentenced to 80 hours of unpaid work and given an 18 month sexual harm prevention order.
Cornforth was also ordered to complete 30 days of rehabilitation requirement and pay court costs of £85, as well as a victim surcharge.
