A POPULAR community music event is to return this year.

Test Valley Borough Council’s Big Band Buffet will once again offer visitors the chance to enjoy an afternoon full of live music as well as a range of food and drinks.

The popular event is free for residents over the age of 55 and will take place at the Crosfield Hall in Romsey on February 2 between 11am and 3pm.

Hundreds enjoyed the entertainment at last year’s event at Test Valley School.

The community event will offer residents the chance to meet with friends, speak with a number of voluntary and community groups and listen to live big band classics.

Cllr Tony Ward, community and leisure portfolio holder, said: “Our Big Band Buffet is always incredibly popular and the previous event was another sell out. It is brilliant that yet again we can offer residents the chance to speak to a range of community groups and gain advice – all while enjoying some fantastic live tunes with a bite of something to eat.”

During the event Hampshire Constabulary and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service will present information on crime prevention and home safety, while representatives of the police and crime commissioner will attend as well as those from the West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
