STEWARDS had to intervene in an incident at St Mary's Stadium last night as Saints crashed out of the FA Cup

Things turned ugly in the stands as fans became frustrated with Saints' loss, resulting in the stewards at St Mary's Stadium having to intervene.

A seperate incident, as captured by away fans in the video above, appears to show a supposed Nottingham Forest fan being removed by stewards.

Saints crashed out of the FA Cup after throwing away a two-goal lead to Derby County for the second time in two weeks.

Hasenhuttl's side were 2-0 up in the third round replay and looked set to contuinue in the competition when The Rams scored two goals in six minutes.

Regular time ended 2-2 and a winner could not be found in extra time.

A penalty shootout decided the winner after Nathan Redmond's miss proved decisive as Derby prevailed 5-3.
