I PHONED Southampton council’s action line on six different working days and got no joy at all trying to book a pick-up for bulk refuse.
Every number I pressed got the same answer: I was put in a 10-minute queue.
After trying again and again, I realised there is nobody there at all as every number I tried had the self-same answer, the phone still ringing, not engaged with the same message “you are in a ten minute queue”.
With the city putting council tax up again and money being made from the Itchen Bridge, which has now been paid for three times over, would it be a good idea to actually employ somebody on the action line who one can speak to without getting the same old recorded message?
Put some action on the action line.
