A SEARCH has been launched for the driver of a car left stuck in a pedestrian underpass at a bizarre angle.
The Mercedes was left wedged in the opening at Boyatt Lane, Otterbourne, which goes underneath Allbrook Way, on Friday morning.
The 2016 Mercedes E220 SE Bluetec estate appears to have been driven down Boyatt Lane heading south west, before hitting a bollard at the entrance to the underpass and becoming wedged in.
The abandoned car is balanced on top of a bollard.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.30am to a report of a car abandoned on Boyatt Lane.
“The car, a silver Mercedes, was wedged on a bollard restricting access to an underpass under the A335 Flyover.
“No-one was with the vehicle on attendance and enquiries are ongoing to trace the owner.
“We haven’t linked any suspects.”
