THERE are limited spaces left for those wanting to take part in this years Hendy Eastleigh 10k.

The initiative which set to take place on March 24 at Fleming Park only has 300 spaces left.

The event is renowned as a fast, flat course and is set to attract around 2,900 entries.

Hendy will be the title sponsor for the event for the fourth consecutive year, and the group is opening new dealerships within sight of the start/finish lines in Eastleigh.

Race Director Steve Collins said: "We are really thrilled with the continued support for the Hendy Eastleigh 10k one of the countries fastest and largest 10k races.

"With around 2500 entries already, and only around 300 left, we are set for another sell out -and with local people cheering the runners on it should be another great race."

He added, "This our 35th anniversary and we've we are really excited about the new 'Hendy Achievement Awards' that provides anyone who ran in last year's race with the chance to win an award for the biggest percentage improvement in their time -so literally anyone could win one!

"Stay fit and healthy and we will see everyone in March "

Hendy's chief executive Paul Hendy said: "The opening of the new Honda, Kia and Mazda dealerships at Villeneuve Way complement its Ford operations at Leigh Road and cement Hendy’s commitment to the town.

“We’re thrilled to be back as the title sponsor for an event that attracts so many runners both locally and from further afield including many of our own staff.”

The race will start at 9am and is suitable for those aged 15 or over.

Children ages 4 to 12 years old will also be able to take part in a fun run from 11am held around Flemming Park.
