EMERGENCY services were involved in a river rescue in Southampton last night.
Coastguard, lifeboat teams and ambulance crews rushed to Northam Bridge to help a woman onboard a boat.
A Coastguard spokesman said they were called to the scene at 9pm to assist the ambulance service after reports of a woman with breathing difficutlies.
The person was transferred to RNLI Calshot Lifeboat for transport to a South Central Ambulance crew.
Posting about the incident on Hill Head Coastguard rescue, she said: "Team tasked to assist SCAS to extricate a casualty onboard a vessel in Northam.
"Casualty transferred to RNLI Calshot Lifeboat for transport to a suitable point of transfer into the care of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
"Excellent example of joint services working."
