SOUTHAMPTON firefighters were among the 20 crews attempting to tackle a warehouse fire in Andover.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue say around 100 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze at the Ocado distribution centre.
Firefighters were called to Ocado's premises on Walworth Business Park after a blaze broke out at around 2.30am in one section of the food giant's operations.
Crews from Eastleigh, Fordingbridge, Romsey and St Mary's are among the 20 crews attempting to tackle the blaze.
General manager of the site Allan Carruthers said around 120 to 130 people were working at that time, but that everyone was evacuated safely.
Members of the management team continue to wait at the site while the day shift team have been sent home as firefighters continue to work at the scene.
Crews from Andover, Whitchurch, Sutton Scotney and Basingstoke have been at the site since the early hours of the morning today (Tuesday) and further teams from Winchester and Eastleigh have also joined the operation.
Mr Carruthers added: "They just want to be 100 per cent sure everything is safe and secure."
