A SOUTHAMPTON adult gaming centre has marked its reopening after a £300,000 refurbishment.

Cashino on Above Bar Street hosted an Egyptian-themed event inspired by the venue’s popular game Eye of Horus.

The event included live entertainment, cash giveaways totalling £4,000 and goodie bags.

Cashino Southampton’s venue manager, Agata Sajdlowska, said: “One of the main attractions of Cashino is the social side of gaming it provides to our customers, and the key aim of the refurbishment was very much to enhance this social aspect.”

“With that aim in mind, we’ve added a serviced bar area – serving bean-to-cup coffee machines and soft drinks with a host of hot and cold snacks. We’ve also added brand new screens, new gaming machines and improved the décor throughout, all of which gives the venue a real modern casino feel.”

Cashino Southampton was selected as one of just eight centres to be renovated in the first phase of a programme which will eventually include all 168 Cashinos across the UK.

The other Cashino venues included in the £3.5 million first phase of the nationwide refit programme were Birmingham, Cotteridge, Coventry, West Ealing, Merry Hill, Wembley and Watford.

Agata added: “The atmosphere and entertainment throughout the day was brilliant, and the feedback we got from both existing and new customers was tremendous. They loved the look and the feel of the new Cashino, and really enjoyed the new social areas.”
