A SOUTHAMPTON shop has been damaged in a suspected ramraid.
The incident happened at Hollyoak Stores in Holly Oak Road and left smashed glass strewn across the pavement.
Photographs at the scene show extensive damage to a door at the front of the shop, which is currently closed.
A resident, who did not want to be named, said: "I didn't realize it had been raided.
"I heard a loud bang at around 11pm and a car speeding past, I looked out the window but couldn't see anything so I went back to bed.
"People don't understand that once this shop goes, we've got nothing. This has happened before, it's such a shame it's happened to [the owner].
"He has been here a while now."
The Daily Echo has contacted Hampshire Police for more information.
