A FIFTEEN-year-old boy arrested in connection with a robbery in Totton has been charged.

Detectives investigating a robbery at McColl's on Longstock Crescent have charged the Southampton teenager with the robbery as well as six other offences.

It follows his arrest on Tuesday after the Totton newsagents was robbed at around 6.15am on Monday.

It was reported that four men entered the store and threatened staff before stealing cash and cigarettes.

Officers later discovered a a bag containing cigarettes that had been stolen from the store.

He has also been charged with attempted burglary with intent to steal at the Premier Store in Viney Avenue, Romsey, on Monday 11 February; burglary dwelling and theft at an address in Beaulieu Close, Southampton, on Monday 11 February; burglary dwelling and theft at an address in Colebrook Avenue, Southampton, on Monday 11 February; aggravated burglary at an address in Riverside Gardens on Wednesday 24 October, 2018; taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent in Southampton on Wednesday 9 January; and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent in Southampton on Tuesday 23 October, 2018.

He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning.
