CITY artists have been offered a helping hand with a tailor-made programme to help boost their careers.

The Artist Development Plan has been set up by a space arts especially for visual artists with an SO post code.

It comes after artists met at the Arches Studios to tell a space arts what help they need to further their work.

As reported a space arts were recently awarded National Portfolio Organisation status by national arts chiefs - meaning the organisation is guaranteed £100,000 a year funding for four years.

Now Artist Development Officer, Alys Scott-Hawkins, will be available for advice and support through pre-booked one-to-one meetings, and at drop-in Artist Information Bureau.

Arch 04 at the Arches Studios will be made available free of charge to visual artists needing short term space for developing, testing and experimenting.

Support for a peer-to-peer network has also been established with artists interested in running practice specific networks urged to get in touch.

An annual Arts Funding Clinic is also being planned, as are regular Artist Voices meetings where artists, curators and programmers from outside the city will be invited to come and share their knowledge and experience.
