Detectives investigating a robbery at a Totton newsagents have arrested two more people.

Yesterday, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of robbery and a 21-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The robbery took place at the McColl's store in Longstock Crescent, at around 6.15am on Monday.

It was reported that four men entered the store and threatened staff before stealing cash and cigarettes.

Officers later discovered a a bag containing cigarettes that had been stolen from the store.

Both of the men remain in police custody at this time.

A spokes person from Hampshire Constabulary said: "The robbery took place at the McColl's store in Longstock Crescent, at around 6.15am on Monday 11 February.

"Today (Feb 14) officers have arrested a 17-year-old boy from Southampton on suspicion of robbery and a 21-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of assisting an offender.

"Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting Operation Assessment or 44190050130."

It follows the arrest of a 15-year-old boy from Southampton on Tuesday in connection with the McColl's robbery.

He was later charged with the robbery along with six other offences.

The teenager was also charged four accounts burglary including attempted burglary with intent to steal at the Premier Store in Viney Avenue, Romsey, on Monday 11 February; burglary dwelling and theft at an address in Beaulieu Close, Southampton, on Monday 11 February; burglary dwelling and theft at an address in Colebrook Avenue, Southampton, on Monday 11 February; aggravated burglary at an address in Riverside Gardens on Wednesday 24 October, 2018.

He was also charged with taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent in Southampton on Wednesday 9 January; and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent in Southampton on Tuesday 23 October, 2018.
