SIR Ian McKellen, David Suchet, Celia Imrie and Dame Harriet Walter will all appear in a season of talks at Nuffield Southampton Theatres this spring.

Profits from these one off special events will go towards NST’s Impact Fund which funds projects for local young people and emerging artists.

An Evening with Dame Harriet Walter, on March 23 at NST City, will start the season. An Olivier Award recipient, she has played many of Shakespeare’s leading parts – both male and female. Her television credits include Downton Abbey, The Crown and Call the Midwife and she has appeared in classic movies Sense and Sensibility, Bright Young Things and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

An Evening with Celia Imrie will follow on March 28 at NST City. Celia is one of the most well-known faces of British comedy, having appeared in hit movies Bridget Jones’s Diary, Calendar Girls, Nanny McPhee, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Her television career includes Doctor Who, Absolutely Fabulous Dinnerladies and Acorn Antiques.

A sold out one man show to celebrate Sir Ian McKellen’s 80th birthday takes place on April 10 at NST Campus. Ian McKellen On Stage with Tolkien, Shakespeare, others …and you will chart the career of a national treasure.

The show starts with Gandalf and will end with an invitation to act with him on stage. In-between there will be anecdotes and acting.

An Evening with David Suchet concludes the season on April 28 at NST Campus. David Suchet is best known for his acclaimed performance as Hercule Poirot in Agatha Christie’s Poirot across 70 episodes between 1989 and 2013. His impressive screen career also includes performances in Oppenheimer, The Way We Live Now, Doctor Who, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and Press.
