A BASEBALL bat-wielding Southampton woman smashed a window before punching a security camera, a court has heard.

Maddison Geddes caused more than £350 damage during the incident in a Southampton street last year.

Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard how the now 24-year-old was seen getting out of a red car with a baseball bat moments before the incident, which took place in Shinewell Gardens, Millbrook, on October 17.

Prosecutor David Finney said that Geddes was seen to use the baseball bat to smash a window to a home, before “punching” a CCTV camera.

Mr Finney said £300 of damage was caused to the window and a further £60 to the security camera.

The reason behind the incident was not read out in court.

Geddes, of Pansy Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and admitted breaching a conditional discharge, imposed by magistrates in January last year.

Geddes, who has 22 convictions from 42 offences, will be sentenced after the completion of a pre-sentence report.

She was bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on March 11.

Magistrates imposed bail condition not to enter Shinewell Gardens and not to contact her victims.
