DETECTIVES investigating a shooting on a Southampton street have today arrested a man.
A 61-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and concerned in the supply of class B drugs in connection with the investigation.
He remains in police custody at this time.
The arrest comes after it was reported that a 17-year-old boy had been shot outside a home on Bluebell Road.
Emergency services were called to the Swaythling street at 10.15pm on Monday night following the incident.
Police say the 17-year-old boy was shot in the legs and ankles and it is believed the weapon used was a shotgun.
Officers later cordoned off a section of the street while they carried out forensic enquiries.
The victim is currently in hospital receiving treatment for non-life threatening gun shot wounds.
Police carried out door-to-door enquiries yesterday appealing for information and remain at the scene today.
