ALTHOUGH I find it very difficult to process at my age, we do live in an age where we require food banks at each and every town or village that we live in throughout the country.
As a former busker, I can verify that of the hundreds of people that passed me by on the street, it was probably one person in a hundred that would stop and give me something.
Now I understand that nobody was obliged to give me money, and that although I brought a lot of pleasure to the masses, there is a small element of people that see it as begging.
My point is therefore this. All shops and stores have food collections, and although I am on benefits, I try to buy at least one item each visit for the less fortunate than myself.
If everyone did this, there wouldn’t be people going hungry! So come on people, give a little – it cleanses the soul!
