I ATTENDED the walk at Marlhill Copse on Saturday and am appalled by the potential destruction of so many trees in the area.

The copse is a lovely wildlife place and has badgers and deer, etc, living in it, plus, of course, all the birds which will soon be nesting.

We have so few of these havens for wildlife and need to stop destroying them before they all disappear.

I understand that an airport leaflet states that the 27 pine trees, the first phase in the plan, are not of an unsafe height so why fell them?

Once these are gone how many more trees will follow?

It is a lovely place for the locals to visit and for the wildlife to live, and by supposedly felling so many trees the area will be harmed.
