FINAL preparations for this year's Rock Challenge are underway as hundreds of Hampshire school children prepare for tonight's big show.

Students arrived at Southampton Guildhall this morning to prepare for the event, which brings together students for across the area for a night of music and drama.

Children from Redbridge Community School, Peter Symonds College, Amery Hill, The Henry Beaufort School, Oasis Academy Lordshill, Swanmore College and Barton Peveril College will all take to the stage this evening to compete for a place in the semi finals.

A total of 40 Hampshire school will take part in the Rock Challenge this week.

Event Manager, Charlotte Payne, said: “I look forward to seeing the wide range of performances that the schools bring to our events every year!

"It’s always fantastic to see the hard work put in by all the schools realised on stage.

"In 2019, we are putting on more shows than in any other year, and I can’t wait to take on the challenge!”

Tonight's performance begins at 6.30pm, with doors opening at 6pm.
