POLICE have launched an attempted murder probe after a man was stabbed in the back in a city centre park.
Officers were called to East Park, Southampton, shortly before 8pm yesterday (March 4) after reports of a serious assault.
A 35-year-old man from Southampton was found to have suffered stab wounds to his back.
An air ambulance was sent to scene, along with an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.

The man, who was in a life-threatening condition, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He is in a stable condition.
A 23-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
They remain in police custody at this time.
A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: “Part of East Park has been cordoned off to allow for officers to carry out enquiries at the scene this morning.
“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 101 and quote 44190077228.”
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service: “We received a 999 call at 7.53pm with the caller reporting a serious assault by the memorial on Brunswick Place.
“We sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to the scene and one patient was taken by road to University Hospital Southampton in a life-threatening condition.”
