FIRE engines have been called to a fire at a new housing development near Fareham.

An emergency call was made at 9.50am reporting a fire at a site office on Cartwright Drive, Titchfield.

Four metal containers, which acted as offices for the new Friary Meadow development, are on fire.

Crews from Fareham, Hightown and Portchester are at the scene.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the fire began in the ground floor of a container, but that the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
