A MAN has been banned from the road for drink driving in Alresford.
Police caught Luke Anthony Turner, 23, of Petersfield Road, Bramdean, in a 07-reg VW Polo on Jacklyns Lane on February 15.
His alcohol reading was 66 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35, making him nearly double the limit. He pleaded guilty to the charge.
Magistrates in Basingstoke fined him £357 with a £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs. The disqualification is for 18 months. It will be reduced by 18 weeks if he passes an approved course by March 1 2020.
