WOMEN in Hampshire have been celebrating International Women’s Day this weekend.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year, raising awareness for women’s rights.
To celebrate the day, student ambassadors from Barton Peveril Sixth Form College organised guest speakers.
The speakers included Romsey and Southampton North MP, Caroline Nokes, and Southampton Football Club’s general manager for girls’ and women’s football, Martina Heath
On Saturday, John Hansard Art Gallery presented workshops and performances in collaboration with Art Asia.
On Sunday, the Southampton Women’s forum held a social walk at the Southampton Common in support of the day.
Guests were asked to “wear a dash of purple” to celebrate.
