POLICE closed off an Eastleigh road again this morning as detectives continue a murder investigation.

Officers have sealed off Woodside Avenue, Eastleigh, following the death of a 23-year-old man from Chandler's Ford.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said the closure was related to the investigation.

The road has since reopened.

Police were first called to the road at 5.44am yesterday (March 10), following a report of two vehicles colliding with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, the 23-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

A 26-year-old man from Eastleigh, who police say was not a driver or passenger in either vehicle, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The drivers of the vehicles – a black Vauxhall Astra and a blue Renault Megane – are helping officers with the investigation.

Police remain at the scene carrying out enquiries.

Woodside Avenue was closed near the junction of Broadlands Avenue for about nine hours following the incident.
