POLICE are appealing for information after a moped was stolen in Southampton.

The Peugeot Tweet 125 was taken from outside a home on Pound Street in Bitterne last night.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We received regarding the theft of a moped from Pound Street, between 8.30pm on March 14 and 8.30am on March 15.

"Anyone with information is asked to call us quoting 44190090498."

It comes after Southampton-teen Jake Arnold had his Honda CBR125 motorbike stolen from outside his girlfriend’s home in Shirley.

The bike was taken after thieves broke the two locks securing the bike.

After searching the streets himself the next day, Jake took to social media to help recover his bike.

Following countless sightings all over the city thanks to distinctive stickers on the vehicle, local bike recovery groups were able to pin-point where it had been dumped.

It was found in woodlands in Millbrook with scratches on the fairings, a warped front brake disk and the ignition barrel had been completely ripped out where the thieves had hot wired the bike.

The back light had also been smashed as well as the number plate had been removed.
