A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
The incident took place on March 12 when a man in his 70's, with impaired vision, was grabbed and punched to the ground by a man in Howards Grove, Shirley.
The pensioner had withdrawn money from Lloyd's Bank in Shirley shortly before incident took place between 11.40am and 12pm.
A person passing by captured the incident on their mobile phone and according to police: "The gentleman fought back and held onto his cash, but he suffered injuries to his face as a result of the incident."
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police said: "We can confirm that a 46-year-old man from Southampton has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
"He remains in custody at this time."
