A THIEF who stole hundreds of pounds worth of alcohol from a Southampton city centre pub has been jailed.
David Hayward entered the staff officer of the Scholar's Arms in Above Bar Street as a trespasser.
He stole seven bottles of alcohol, said to have a total value of more than £665.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Hayward, who pleaded guilty to theft, was jailed for six weeks.
Hayward, of HMP Winchester, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
